Europcar

Now is it official. I am a Vehicle Service Agent for Europcar.
Sounds more professional than it is. Actually I clean around 10-15 cars daily.
But it is still better than nothing. Need a job and the money. I also try to get a second job for the evening hours. I have been looking for kitchen hand and bar jobs. They all want to have people who are staying 3 or more months. Anyway, I'm fine and still in Darwin probably till the end of September.

Darwin is full of backpackers. In the city are 3 hostel close to each other. That means party every night and a lot of beer. But I like it here. Everything is more relaxed and cozy. i know a few people back from travelling and enjoy my time with them.

Last saturday I have been in Litchfield National Park. Hired a car with Europcar. It is a nice spot and totally different to the Outback or the south of Australia. Pictures will be released soon.

In a couple of weeks we are heading to Kakadu NP or the Arnhem Land. Arnhem Land is aboriginal territorium and you have to pay a few hundred bucks to enter. Maybe I get the possibility to go there with some connection. Would be a great experience to see how Aboriginies live.

Darwin Carlon Draught Cup

Das war wirklich eine stressige Woche. Am Montag war grosses Pferderennen mit ca. 20.000 Besuchern und ich stand an der Bar. Nach 11,5 Std. Arbeit hatte sich unsere Crew auch ein DAB (Dienstabschlussbier) verdient. Mit fast 400 $ mehr in der Tasche lacht das Herz auch nach so einem anstrengenden Tag. Dann hiess es aufraeumen die naechsten Tage fuer weniger Geld. Anfangs nur Flaschen einsammeln und Stuehle zusammenstellen. Hatten wir die letzten 2 Tage die ehrenwerte Aufgabe die kleinsten Schnipsel aus dem Rasen zu sammeln, was auch Zigarettenabfaelle mit einschliesst. Dies hat mich zu dem Entschluss gebracht Raucher noch mehr zu hassen.
